Ms. Nilakshi Deka

Dr. Nilakshi Deka is a Guwahati–based Endocrinologist, associated with the International Hospital and the Dispur Polyclinic and Nursing Home, as a Consultant in Endocrinology. She has also been a Visiting Consultant to Excel Care Hospital.

Dr. Nilakshi Deka has wide experience in managing patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, obesity and metabolic disorders. Apart from diabetes, she has an avid interest in the areas of thyroid, pituitary and adrenal disorders, and is committed to the cause of creating awareness about the prevention of obesity, diabetes and related disorders.

Besides an MBBS, Dr. Nilakshi Deka has an MD postgraduate degree in Medicine and the superspeciality DM degree in Endocrinology as her qualifications, all obtained from the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. She has also received training in Endocrinology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.

Dr. Nilakshi Deka is a prolific speaker on topics in diabetes and Endocrinology. She is academically inclined and devotes considerable time to research activities. She is regularly invited as a guest speaker at workshops and symposia, and as a panellist for discussions at various meets organised by MNCs. In addition, she has also been involved in initiating many health awareness camps in Guwahati and surrounding areas for the benefit of her patients and others.
